Why now

AI is rewriting how we build software

Teams that don’t adapt fall behind peers who use AI structurally. Generic courses stay shallow. You want someone who actually uses the tools.

  • Speed cuts both ways

AI makes your team faster, but used poorly it builds technical debt faster too.

  • Tools aren’t the point

It’s about workflows, review and quality. We turn that into lasting habits.

  • Local AI has matured

With your own hardware or cloud GPUs you keep data in-house and costs under control.

Courses

Four formats, one goal: make your team more capable

Pick an inspiring session for broad buy-in, or a training day for depth. For AI assisted coding or local AI.

Intro · inspiration
Hands-on training
AI assisted coding
2 hr

AI assisted coding: inspiration session

2 hours · whole department

A lively session full of demos and tailored examples. Perfect to get your whole tech department aligned on what AI assisted coding can do, and where the limits are.

  • Demos with your own code
  • Tailored to your stack in advance
  • Whole department, no prerequisites
1 day

AI assisted coding: training day

1 day · 6–10 people · on-site

A hands-on day with your own agent harness and provider. The team leaves with a working setup and new habits around prompting, review and quality.

  • Your own agent & provider (I advise)
  • Working setup per attendee
  • Practical exercises on your codebase
Local AI
2 hr

Local AI: inspiration session

2 hours · whole department

What can local AI do today, and when do you choose it over the cloud? From laptop to workstation, with privacy, cost and honest demos.

  • Laptop and workstation tiers
  • Privacy and cost considerations
  • Live demos with local models
1 day

Local AI: training day

1 day · 6–10 people · on-site

Run local models on your own laptops and provisioned cloud GPUs. Data stays with you. The team learns to choose, run and connect models to your own tools.

  • Run locally on laptop + cloud GPU
  • Data stays in-house
  • Connect to your own tooling

Differentiator

Local AI: your data, your rules

Local AI has matured, and it’s our specialty. From portable laptop models to powerful workstations, without sending your data to a cloud.

  • Privacy by default

Sensitive code and data stay within your walls. No token usage with external providers.

  • Predictable costs

Invest once in hardware or cloud GPUs instead of paying per token.

  • Full control

Choose, fine-tune and connect your own models to your own tooling.

Laptop tier

Ollama / llama.cpp on your own laptop: small, fast, enough for many tasks.

Workstation tier

Cloud GPUs (e.g. RunPod, Vast.ai) or a rented rig for larger models.

About

Delivered by a practitioner

I’m Johannes Bertens: software developer, software architect, entrepreneur and trainer. I build with AI daily, from Claude Code and Cursor to local models on my own hardware.

So you get no theoretical talk, but examples from practice: what works, what doesn’t, and how to truly embed AI into your workflow.

Work

Work where I do this daily

A few examples of projects centred on AI assisted coding and local AI. (Placeholder: replace with real projects before launch.)

  • Claude Code + local LLM

    Internal AI copilot for logistics

A copilot that helps staff with daily tasks, running on own infrastructure.

  • Cursor + GitHub Copilot

    Automated test pipeline

An agent-driven pipeline that generates and maintains tests.

  • Ollama + vLLM on RTX hardware

    Local knowledge base (RAG)

A searchable knowledge base over internal documents, fully on-premise.

FAQ

Good questions

Answers to what teams ask most often.

What does a course cost?

The inspiration session is €500 (fixed). The training day is from €750 p.p. for 6–10 people. Prices exclude VAT. For local AI with cloud GPUs we provide a custom quote.

Where do courses take place?

On-site at your location. Elsewhere on request.

Are travel costs included?

Within the Netherlands I charge no extra travel costs. Beyond that we discuss it together.

Do attendees need prior knowledge?

The inspiration session needs none. For the training day, basic programming experience helps.

How big are the groups?

The inspiration session is for the whole department (unlimited). The training day is for 6 to 10 people, so everyone gets enough practice.

What’s included?

Demos, tailored examples, take-home materials and a short follow-up afterwards.

Which tools do we use?

You choose. I advise on agent harness and provider (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or local LLMs) and tailor the course to them.

And the hardware for local AI?

At the laptop tier we work on your own laptops. For the workstation tier we use cloud GPUs or a rented rig, so no one has to buy their own high-end hardware.
